From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Katy Evans comes a sizzling new contemporary romance.
He's won the hearts of millions. But is he willing to lose his?
I met the president’s son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. I’d never met a guy like him.
He promised me that he’d never run for president. I promised that if he did, I’d be by his side.
Three terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton’s campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I’ve ever experienced. I'm determined to make a difference; he is determined to win.
Focused on his goal, Matt is steadfast, ruthless, and disarming. All eyes are on him and his popularity is surging. But soon, the next possible president of the United States is possessing me in more ways than one—and despite the risks, I'm helpless to resist.
We're stealing touches, stealing moments, and stealing away at night. But our chemical connection is quickly becoming dangerously combustive, putting not only my heart, but Matt's chance at the presidency on the line.

Look, it's not a secret that I'm Katy Evan's biggest fan. It's just not. I am completely and utterly addicted to her books. I cannot get enough. I crave her stories. And when I get a new one, I can barely contain myself from gobbling it up in one sitting. She's MY unicorn author. The one that I know will deliver a great read EVERY. SINGLE. TIME

That said, when I heard about this book -- Mr President -- I was a teeny bit nervous. Politics is a sticky thing, right? And I was feeling so over this current election climate that I didn't know if I wanted to read a romance based on a man running for Office. But it's Katy Evans, and if anyone can write a home run romance on that kind of story-line, it's her. So I started reading...

And... sh*t. whoa. WHOA.
WHOAAAAAAAAAA
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! <<---- Yes. That is a lot of whoa's!!! ::giggles::

Immediately, I was bubbling with all these swoony-gleeful-crazy-I want to howl at the moon-I'm so happy-feelings. I can't even explain it. My stomach started doing these little tango moves for Matt. Talk about TAKING MY BREATH AWAY.
TALK ABOUT HEART STOPPINGLY SEXY, FUN, AND INTOXICATING.

HOLY GOSH!

Mr. President is a book you read when you want to be swept off your feet completely. It's a sexy, forbidden (though, not crazy forbidden, just a little complicated) romance that literally gives you goosebumps all over (I'm even getting them now as I write this review). It makes you feel as though you are being romanced from the top of your head to the very tippy tips of your toes.

It's divine.
Utterly delicious.

Matt is an alpha male all the way, but not a dirty, over the top, alpha. He's smart, sexy, articulate, strong, capable, savvy, masculine, and so f--king drool worthy it makes you ache in the very best ways. His love for his Country, for the people, for his family, for Charlotte, is so swoon worthy. I about exploded with love and lust when he was on the page.

And Charlotte... I cannot say enough about how endearing and sweet she was. This girl is perfect. She's young, energetic, beautiful, pure hearted. A go getter with an innocence that gives you hope and makes you feel happy.

I loved the chemistry between her and Matt. I loved the way they were with each other. And as the plot line unfolded, as Matt brought Charlotte on the campaign trail, as their dynamic grew and blossomed, I became intoxicated. I loved that their relationship felt easy. I loved that it wasn't weighed down by over bearing, heavy handed, angst! I mean, yes, the angst was present throughout the book but it was just so well done that I felt like I could dance through it.

Gosh, delicious, romantic, Mr. President had me flying high. I don't really know what else to say. If you want to read a romance that will steal your breath, that will take you away from every day life, that will hold your attention ENTIRELY, then get this. Go on the campaign trail with Matt as he tries to win the votes of the people. Watch as Charlotte helps him reach his goals. Be enamored as they find what they thought they never would in each other.  And feel the romance as you are stolen by just how beautiful, how wonderful, these characters are inside and out.

Overall, I am in love with this book. It's hard for me to pick a favorite Katy Evans read because I've had a love-fest with them all, but if I had to choose, this would be at the top of my list. I  HIGHLY recommend it. Utterly amazing. A SOLID 5 stars of Hamilton Perfection.

Angie's Rating:

He holds my face in one hand, doing the most wicked things to my tongue until he tears his lips away, glancing at my mouth.

He looks at my kissed lips as he slips his hand beneath my skirt, touching the bare skin on the inside of my thigh. His fingertip touches me over my underwear—trailing a feather-like path across my wet sex.

It’s a ghost touch—barely there, but it causes a shudder to run through me.

I moan, and his forehead hovers above mine as we both pant and brush our lips across the other’s. Matt licks my bottom lip, then inside my mouth before he retreats.

He sets his face on mine and smells my neck. He groans again and kisses me, tongue plunging heatedly inside. Pulling back seconds later.

“Are you torturing me?” I gasp, so aroused my whole body is shaking.

He’s breathing hard, his chest expanding with each breath. “If I’m torturing you, then what I’m doing to myself has no name.”

“You’re unobtainable, Matt.” I look at his GQ-cover face. “Matt Hamilton. You’re so unobtainable you’re like a poster, something I can look at but not touch.”

A dark look settles in his gaze as he leans forward again.

I’m thoughtless, mindless as he presses his lips to mine. A kiss with just one flick of his tongue. So perfect and so right, I forget that it’s wrong. I inhale, and he inhales me through his mouth.

I groan his name this time.

“Matt.”

It cannot work. It won’t work. The scandal it would cause, the way it would ruin everything that he—that we—are so methodically working for.

“I’ll find a way to get you alone with me. I want to spend time with you. I want to feel more of you,” he rasps, kissing my earlobe, his breath hot and haggard on my skin as he lets his fingers trail up and down my thigh, beneath my skirt.

His fingers sweep across my panties again—eliciting another mewl from my lips.

“I’d like that,” I moan when he rubs my nub a little.

He looks down at me with primal possessiveness, watching me catch my breath and moan as he rubs harder, when a new group of people walk into the monument.

He clenches his jaw, then smoothly pulls his hand away. I breathe, “Is this a mistake?”

“It won’t be.” His voice is firm. Eyes flashing and determined as he lifts his head to scan the crowd. “Let’s go,” he says gently, taking my elbow and guiding me.

We head back to the car in silence—his hand on the small of my back as he guides me into the backseat. His touch searing—reminding me of where else his fingers have just been.

SYNOPSIS:
There’s no way I’ll fall for Wyatt Hennington.
He can keep his Southern drawl, irresistible smile, and those pick-up lines all to himself. I made the mistake of sleeping with him not once, but twice. I’m not stupid enough to give him round three, especially after he left me in the middle of the night so I could see myself out. I vow to return to Philadelphia and forget him.
It proves easier said than done.
When the doctor informs me I’m the winner of door prize number two, I put my life on hold and head back to Bell Buckle. Three months and if we can’t make this work, I’m gone.
The problem is—when the cards are stacked against us, and I can’t bring myself to leave him, I’ll finally know if he truly loves me or if all my fears were real . . .

"Wyatt brings bold color to a world where I was only seeing muted tones."

As you probably know from my dramatic book craziness, Say You'll Stay (the first stand-alone novel in this series) is in my TOP reads of 2016. I'm talking TOP 3 reads of the entire year. I loved it. Actually, I more than loved it. I devoured that story, screamed it everywhere, and it kept me in it's clutches for weeks. It was all I could think about. Powerful. Poignant. Raw. Just amazing. So, to say I had hefty expectations for Say You Want Me would be putting it mildly. I was taken by Wyatt when we met him in Zach's book. Swoony and sweet, alluring and utterly charming, he had this charismatic, sex appeal that pulled you in and made you want him instantly. I was hooked on him before I even started reading this book.

And boy, did "Say You Want Me" ever deliver! This story was .... OH. MY. GOD. It was just EPIC!!!!!!!!! I'm still trying to catch my breath after finishing. I almost feel as if I'm running on pure adrenaline. It was intense. And also, a little unexpected.

Let me explain...

You see when I first started reading, I was seduced by the chemistry and riveting dynamic between Angie and Wyatt.

Angie is a fiercely independent woman who runs her own business, lives her life how she sees fit, and is not afraid to say what she wants. She's a woman with an alluring personality. And Wyatt, well he's the charming playboy of Bell Buckle. Sweet as pie. Sexy as sin. With an alpha intensity and sparkle in his eye that makes you feel all weak kneed (and let's not even start on that sinful smirk :::faints:::)! Simply put, HE'S HEAVEN IN A PAIR OF LEVI JEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“I plan on breakin’ all your rules tonight,” he promises.
“I plan to let you.”
His confident grin paints his face. “I told you it would happen.”
smile and touch his cheek. “I knew you’d rise to the occasion.”

Together, he and Angie have a chemistry that's electric. It shoots sparks off the pages and man, it's addicting. Compelling. They burn your e-reader to ashes. And in a way, it lulls you into this false sense of security. You think...

"Wow... this is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Zach and Presley's book."
And, "holyeeeeeeee swoon! This is so sexy, so fun. Almost angst free! I cannot even."

You delight in it, because it's unexpected. It's also so well written. And gosh darn, Angie and Wyatt are so delicious together, it's ridiculous. You can't get enough. You devour their story ravenously. And you are soooooo damn happy it hurts.

And then it HAPPENS...

You hit the TWIST!
The mother of ALL TWISTS and BOOM. BAM. THANK YOU, MA'AM, YOU ARE GUTTED.

Now...

Obviously, every book has a twist in some way, shape, or form. But this... I DID NOT SEE IT COMING. It left me wide eyed, double blinking, clutching my chest and honestly going, DID. THAT. JUST. HAPPEN?

If you loved the angst in Say You'll Stay, you will be right at home with the angst in Say You Want Me. Heartbreaking, it will make you sob. It hurts. But it also shows that you have to FIGHT for the people you love. You have to choose them even when you're struggling.

Forgiveness, mercy, faith and hope, are all lessons in this book.

And you know I love a book that actually has a message behind the angst. I can't say enough good things. I don't want to give plot spoilers. I feel as though the blurb alludes to enough of what Angie and Wyatt will go through.

But I want to say this, this family -- The Hennington's -- are so utterly lovable. I am enamored, and in love, with each of them. Good people, that's exactly what they are. I love the way they love and support one another. I love that no matter what, at the end of the day, they are there to lift each other up, to make sure that every need is met. The small town atmosphere, the loyalty, the unconditional love and acceptance, it is all so wonderful. I am over the moon with it.

Overall, each character in this book is distinct and captivating, each story in The Hennington family is it's own. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ ANY BOOK BEFORE THIS ONE. They are interconnected stand-alones

Unique, addicting, compelling, utterly amazing, I adored every minute of this book. And I want to live in this town, on the Hennington Ranch, forever. I give it 5 emotional stars

5 STAR REVIEW: PUNK 57 BY PENELOPE DOUGLAS!!!

Title: Punk 57
Series: Stand-alone
Author: Penelope Douglas
Release Date: October 21, 2016!
PURCHASE HERE:

SYNOPSIS:
“We were perfect together. Until we met.”
Misha
I can’t help but smile at the words in her letter. She misses me.
In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.
It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…
And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.
Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.
We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?
Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?
F*ck it. I need to meet her.
I just don’t expect to hate what I find.
***
Ryen
He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.
Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his number or picture or something.
He could be gone forever.
Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

"Eventually we all have to weigh what we want more: wanting back what we had or wanting what could be. To stay or to risk everything to move forward."

Penelope Douglas is my go-to author for dark teen romances. She perfectly illustrates teenage angst, the chaotic emotions and the unfettered recklessness that exists in those years, but she weaves in maturity and depth that ensure they're not meant for young readers. Her stories are as heavy as they are sensual, as dark as they are romantic. I went into Punk 57 craving the pleasure-pain this author is known for, the exquisite war between lust and cruelty, the delicious romance that evolves on the thin line between love and hate. What I wasn't expecting was how powerfully complex this storyline would be. It's gritty and sexy and completely addictive, but it's also a very profound demonstration of the weight of our words. I expected to find an entertaining, angsty romance between these pages. But Douglas' perfectly placed wording transformed this romance into something bigger, something powerful, something important that resonated with me long after the last page.

Misha and Ryen have been pen pals for years. Their friendship is a solid one built on the trust that they'd always be there for each other even though they've never met. They've supported each other, confided in each other, leaned on each other, all the while quietly reflecting on their growing romantic feelings. But when Misha accidentally discovers who Ryen is, a messy, unpredictable course of events begins to unfold and this story of friendship becomes an enemies to lovers romance rife with deception and secrecy. Punk 57 is a bit reminiscent of Bully and Corrupt, but with an intoxicating, original premise. The cruel push and pull between Misha and Ryen reminded me so much of Tate and Jared; the mutual disdain they often hold for each other mixed with their ruthless taunting reminded me of Michael and Rika. But while Misha and Ryen's story is very much their own, this unputdownable, tumultuous friends to enemies to lovers romance rivals Bully and Corrupt as one of my favorites from this author.

"How do you tell your friend— your best friend— that you’ve been right here, under her nose, playing with her like a puppet?"

Punk 57 is an edgy, unpredictable romance built on secrets and lies, loss and fear. But beyond the romance, the sex, the superficial friendships, there's a deeper message within these words. This story is ugly. It demands we face things we don't want to look at, feel things we don't want to feel. While the romantic heartbreak within this story hurts so good, it's the other side of this book, the cruelty, the bullying, the abuse, the assault, the truth of what humans have the capacity to inflict upon one another that's so disturbing and so difficult to read. But as dark as this story is, this book is a reminder that it gets better, that there's hope, that everything that's lost can be found again. This book is a reminder that we're not alone. It's a reminder to be brave, to lift each other up even when it's scary, to not give up. Punk 57 is about the power of words, the power they hold to inflict irreparable harm, to free us, to shame, to empower, their ability to lie and to release the truth. Words have the capacity to hurt and to heal, to destroy us and save us. Whether those words are spoken aloud or written in a letter or sung on stage or painted on a wall or printed in a beautifully brutal book, they hold the power to change our lives.

"You’re not alone. It gets better. You are important, and you can’t be replaced. Hang on."

Thunder cracks outside just as my back hits the wall. My chest rises and falls, touching his with every intake of breath. He peers down at me, his eyes boring into mine.

“There hasn’t been a damn thing easy about this,” he says, his breath hot against my skin.

“That was your choice.”

I try desperately to hold on to the anger that’s being replaced quickly with my need, my desire, my craving for this man. The only man I’ve ever loved. The man that is my other half—whether it’s fucked up or not. Being this close to him puts me at a disadvantage, but there’s no denying the little balm of peace that’s washed over some of my wounds by his presence. By his touch. By the way he’s looking at me.

“It sure as hell didn’t feel like my choice,” he gruffs.

“Maybe that’s the problem,” I say, the words full of hesitation. “Maybe we aren’t the same people anymore. Maybe we’ve changed. I know you’re not the Ty I once knew.”

“No, you’re right,” he says with an arrogant shrug of his muscled shoulders. “I love you more than I ever have.”

“Fuck you,” I say, a slip to my voice that he hears.

His eyes glimmer, distracting me, and I don’t see the kiss coming. But the feeling of his lips against mine sends a zip of energy screaming through my veins.

“Ty!” I object half-heartedly, pressing him away with only a portion of the gumption I could put behind it if I wanted to. He doesn’t care. He just kisses me harder, his lips soft and smooth like I remember.

My knees go weak, like it’s some kind of first kiss, my breathing ragged like the first time he kissed me under the steps at the high school.

He drops his grip on my wrist and clenches my hips with both hands. His lips are unrelenting, working mine with such precision, such skill, that it’s all I can do to follow along.

And really, it’s all I want to do.

Our kisses grow quicker, our breathing more labored. My head is spinning, shouting at me to stop the madness. My body, my heart, lobbying in tandem to stay put because this is where I’m supposed to be.

I can’t process the arguments. All I can do is fall into an easy rhythm, be played like an instrument in the hands of the man that knows it like the back of his hand. A man that’s played it a million times, that’s crafted how it plays by his touch.

My fingers find the back of his hair and I lace them through his wet locks. He growls against my lips, the heat of his breath tingling my mouth and eliciting a fire between my thighs.

His fingers dig into my hips, his body pressing mine into the wall. The intensity of the contact at every level makes me desperate for more.

Ignoring the tick of my subconscious that tries to remind me why I shouldn’t be here, my hands hurriedly find the hem of his shirt. It’s wet and heavy, and when my skin touches the defined lines of his abdomen, we both flinch.

My fingertips skirt his chiseled torso, his body rolling against my skin, itching for connection the same as me. In a swift movement, I find the waistband of his jeans and frantically undo the button. The zipper slips down over his hardened cock.

“Ah,” I moan as his lips finally leave mine and work their way to the skin just below my ear.

Before I can register it, my shirt is up and over my head.

“Fuck, E,” he breathes as he takes in my nude body. “Damn, baby.”

“Ty,” I whisper, my voice barely heard over the storm raging outside. It’s no match for the explosion happening inside me.

His eyes never leave mine as he slips off his shoes and jeans. I watch, pinned to the spot by the words he’s telling me without saying anything at all.

“Come here, sweetheart,” he whispers as the light in the bedroom flickers and the power goes off.

My hands shake as I reach for him in the darkness. He takes my hand mid-air, like he knew where I’d be, and guides me to him. Our bodies press together, skin to skin, our hearts thumping at the same frenzied pace.

“God,” he mutters, holding me tight against him.

“Ty?”

“Yeah?” he asks as his fingers stroke my back.

The war raging inside me tears me in half. For once in my life, I go not with what makes sense, but what makes me feel better.

This time, just this once, I’m going to give in. After this, I know what I’ll have to do and it’s been a long time coming.

I take a deep, shaky breath and go for it. “Fuck me before I change my mind.”

Interview with Arizona (Ari):

1. How do you handle being in the spotlight and having people watching you 24/7?

Well, they’re usually watching my parents or my brother. Not me. So it’s not a big deal. That’s a benefit of being the youngest.

2. What do you do to "get away" from it all?

Get away? I’m just a normal teenager, so the only thing I need to escape is Mrs. Prime’s Advanced Algebra class and my history homework.

3. What has been the best thing about being in the world of politics?

I don’t know.

4. Would you ever want to run for office yourself?

Probably not.

5. If you ran for office, what would your campaign motto be?

Oh, who knows? I mean, you’d have to pick it to fit the political climate and who knows what that will be like when I’m older?

Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Olivia Hammond have a lot in common. They were each dealt a really shitty deck and knew early on they weren't destined to marry a prince. Their unfortunate lot in life has cursed them to a fate peppered with moments of happiness before it's all snatched away. Once upon a time, they each came to find themselves immersed within the opulence behind the palace walls with a prince in their sights and a stoic old woman threatening to tear it all away. While the road to happily ever after isn't without its hardships, its thorns, its poison for any of these heroines, Olivia Hammond's fairy tale just might be the fairest of them all.

I have a secret obsession: the real life royal family. As an American, I've spent my whole life intrigued by a centuries old family holding court over the land. It's so foreign to me, this idea of lavish palaces housing generations of history, princesses birthing chubby heirs that'll someday be kings, the whole practice of coronations and opulent weddings, dukes and duchesses, crown jewels, marble tombs where dead ancestors are buried beneath wings of your house... it's all just so fascinating to me. Equally fascinating is the way Emma Chase crafts a book. Her storytelling, the voice she gives her characters, there's an effortless ease in which she writes and it captivates me every single time. I'm a moth to a flame. So, quite obviously, Emma Chase writing a royal romance around a sexy, sharp tongued Prince... well, I'm in heaven.

Royally Screwed is the anti fairy tale. A common girl meets a royal prince and an epic romance ensues. But time is running out. On order of the queen, Prince Nicholas of Wessco is bound to wed in a few short months and his bride must fit the royal criteria under the law, of which Olivia does not. It's both romantic and tragic, this idea of spending the only time they have together even knowing it won't last, knowing they're doomed to heartbreak.

Royally Screwed is so different from anything Emma Chase has ever written before and I loved it just as much but in such different ways. Packed full of witty banter and perfectly timed humor, Royally Screwed is sweet and sexy and angsty, funny but unexpectedly heavy as well. I laughed, I cried, I felt things I so rarely feel in books. Theoretically, when you read a romance novel, I think it should read as if the author literally holds your heart in their hands. With each turn of the page, the author fills it, squeezes it, cracks it open, mends it, breaks it, soothes it, makes it soar. It's so rare, for me, to find an author who reaches inside and grips my heart with her words anymore. But Emma Chase did precisely that, stealing my heart and my breath with her delicious, swoony prince and his beautiful commoner. This story exemplifies why fairy tales exist; to give you hope and joy and to remind you what's possible and magical and extraordinary in an ordinary world. Royally Screwed is all of those things; magical, extraordinarily romantic, and wholly unforgettable. I can't wait to re-read.

Jessica's Rating:

She’s even lovelier than I remembered, than I dreamed. Delicate midnight tendrils frame a face that belongs in a museum—with stunning dark sapphire eyes that should be commemorated in vibrant oils and soft watercolors. If Helen launched a thousand ships, this girl could raise a thousand hard-ons.

She’s prettily made, the top of her head coming only to my chin, but fantastically curvy. Great full tits that strain the buttons of a wrinkled white blouse, shapely hips in a black skirt tapering to a tiny waist I could wrap my hands around and toned legs encased in sheer black tights finish off the whole package very nicely.

An unfamiliar anxiousness fizzes like soda in my gut.

“The door was open,” I explain.

“It’s broken.”

Logan flicks at the lock. Security is his life, so a broken lock would annoy him like a puzzle with the final piece missing.

“What do you want?”

She has no idea who I am. It’s in the defensive way she holds herself and the accusatory note in her voice. Some women try to pretend they don’t recognize me, but I can always tell. Her ignorance is rather…thrilling. There are no expectations, no hidden agendas, no reasons to pretend—what she sees is what she gets. And all she sees is me.

My throat is suddenly a barren wasteland. I swallow, but it’s difficult.

“Well, he’s desperate for some pie.” I hook my thumb at Simon. “And I…wanted to apologize for the other evening. I don’t normally act that way. I was on a bit of bender…”

“In my experience, people don’t do things when they’re drunk that they wouldn’t do normally.”

“No, you’re right. I would’ve thought all those things, but I never would’ve said them out loud.” I move closer, slowly. “And if I’d been sober…my opening bid would’ve been much higher.”

“She crosses her arms. “Are you trying to be cute?”

“No. I don’t have to try…it just sort of happens.”

Emma Chase is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the hot and hilarious Tangled series and The Legal Briefs series. Emma lives in New Jersey with her husband, two children and two naughty (but really cute) dogs. She has a long-standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.

EMOTIONALLY EXPLOSIVE!!!!!!!

That is what A Love Letter to Whiskey is. It is an emotionally charged read that is so well written it will blow your mind. Still, weeks after finishing, I cannot put into words what I went through reading this book. Painful, exquisite, soul stealing, raw, turbulent, honest, a guaranteed book hangover. It consumes you. From the first sentence, to the very last word, it's down right intoxicating. I was drunk on feels. I had the book buzz of ALL book buzzes. I couldn't function.

Obsessed.

This book leaves you feeling obsessive. You can't stop thinking about it. You can't stop running scenes through your head. The story is all-consuming. And for this only being my second Kandi Steiner read, I am now hooked on her. I want to read EVERY BOOK she writes. I can't get over it. I can't get over the level of angst and, most importantly, the way this book made me feel.

For those of you who follow me, you know that I am a reader who is addicted to "feelssssss!" I mention them ALL the time. They are important to me. When I look for books to recommend to you, I am desperate to find the ones that pull major emotional responses.

I want the novels that make me feel.
Books that make me fall in love and break my heart at the same time.
I want to look back on the story and SEE IT. Like a movie. A vivid picture.
I want to be able to recall the moments, the emotions, the way the characters looked at each other, the way the heartbreak felt when it happened.
I want to be completely and utterly dominated by the way I felt when I was reading that book.

And I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that A Love Letter to Whiskey IS THAT BOOK. I will remember it, call on it, and recommend it for years and years to come.

It is THAT phenomenal.

And you know... if I could compare the feels in this novel to any one book it would be "Thoughtless." A Love Letter to Whiskey's story is completely it's own, but the emotions it drew out of me were so similar to Thoughtless. The push and pull, the yearning, that deep, aching pain when you are longing for someone... AHHHHHH. Raw! Painful. It really is.

This novel had me aching. It was the sweetest, most delicious torture that demands you listen. I can't describe how lost I was in Whiskey. And I also, can't even express how much Jamie and B owned and destroyed me as a reader. I connect to both of them. And never once did I get angry at these characters. Frustrated, yes. Angry and bitter, no. They were so honest, so raw and real. So authentically flawed. This story was magnificent. I cannot say that enough times.

Also, I went into A Love Letter to Whiskey COMPLETELY BLIND. The only thing I knew before reading was that it was a "timing is never right" story and I had also read the absolute kick ass synopsis. But I stayed away from reviews. I needed to go into the novel without having other peoples thoughts in my head. And I think you need to do the same thing. This story is an EXPERIENCE. It's something that I would HATE to see ruined for you. I want you to hop on the roller coaster ride and live the twists and turns like it is happening to you.

Overall, I would call this a high-angst thrill ride that does not let up. It grips you by the heart and holds on until it owns you completely. It's merciless and real, from start to finish. So well written, so perfectly paced, and brimming with emotion. Really... just an intoxicating tale of two people who can't seem to get on the same page.

I would recommend A Love Letter to Whiskey to EVERYONE. It's a TOP 2016 read for me. In fact, I would put it up there with my TOP 3 reads, Say You'll Stay, Swear on This Life, and The Silent Waters. A Love Letter to Whiskey fits right in there. ALL THE WAY at the top. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars because simply put, it's a masterpiece for angst lovers

Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa with her husband. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isn’t working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine – not necessarily in that order.

"Pretty amazing, isn't it?"
I probably should have jumped at his voice, but I think my body already knew he was there. It was buzzing, just slightly, like when in the presence of a ghost.
Jamie leaned over the railing to the right of the sliding glass door I'd just exited, his back to me as he lifted his beer bottle to his lips. I slid up beside him, resting my elbows on the lip of the rail to mirror his and breathing in a deep inhale. The air was so fresh in California, so light. It was warm and salty just like Florida, but it didn't have the same weight.
"It is," I finally answered, turning to face him. I always loved that, the first sight of him, the first hit. It was a little jarring, like a slight burn, but the aftertaste was smooth, welcoming, like an old friend calling me home. "So you're acknowledging my existence now?"
He tipped the bottle again with a shrug, but his eyes hadn't left the ocean yet.
"Stop being a brat, Jamie Shaw," I said, sipping on my own drink. He smirked then, I saw it out of the corner of my eye.
"I can't believe you just called me a brat."
"I can't believe you're acting like one."
"How so?" he asked, finally facing me. He was on the defensive, but the line between his brows vanished once he really looked at me. I fought the urge to shield myself as his eyes trailed a fire down to my chest. I knew the top had paid off because he swallowed, eyes heated, and I suddenly wondered why I'd wanted that attention. I had a boyfriend, and yet this was it — this was the exact reason why I'd shelled out fifty bucks for a bathing suit top. For the look Jamie was giving me now, for the rush I felt along with it.
"By ignoring me for the past month," I whispered, my voice failing me in my time of need, but it was enough to snap his attention back up to my face.
He scoffed. "I haven't been ignoring you. I've been busy. And I figured you probably were, too." He didn't finish that sentence, but I knew what he wanted to say was that I was probably busy with Ethan. He took a long swig from his bottle before bracing his elbows on the railing again. "How are you liking San Diego?"
I hated this conversation. It sounded forced, like two strangers instead of two people who used to share the deepest secrets. "It's fine. I haven't really seen much," I replied flatly, one hand on the rail and the other on my hip as I remained facing him.
"Ethan's not showing you around?" I didn't miss the slightly mocking tone when he spoke Ethan's name.
"He is," I clarified. "He's been taking me to a lot of places on campus. He's been telling me a lot about the traditions on campus and giving me some ideas of organizations to join. I got a job at the coffee shop, too, which is great since he has the Student Government meetings there."
Jamie's profile was so strong against the moonlight, his jaw defined by the shadows that fell beneath it. "Sounds like you're well on your way to becoming the senator's wife."
"Hardly," I choked out on a laugh, and that finally made him look at me again. "I'm nineteen, Jamie."
"And?" he answered quickly. "Ethan is already building that life. He's working on the ultimate plan — right positions in SGA, right classes, right internships with notable politicians…" he paused. "Right girlfriend."
I glanced through the sliding glass doors where Ethan stood in a group, laughing, telling a story that had everyone around him enthralled. Was that true? I knew he was into politics, knew that was where his future existed, but was he really planning it all out already? Was part of that plan?
"So he's serious about his future. Nothing wrong with that."
He laughed. "How much do you really know about him?"
This time it was me on the defensive, and I crossed my arms beneath the coral top biting into my skin. It drew Jamie's eyes down again, just for a second, but I smiled at the victory. "I know enough. And I like him, so drop it."
When Jamie's eyes met mine again, they were different. They reminded me of the night after he graduated, the hint of mischief, the glint of challenge. "What are you drinking?"
I opened my mouth to reply, but it stayed open, and I fought the smile threatening to break through. When I pressed my lips together to bite it back, Jamie grinned.
"B," he said, and I felt the moment he stepped into my space, that familiar burn washing over me before the haze set in. "What are you drinking?"
I let out a long exhale. "Whiskey."
A wide smile split his face just as the sliding glass door slid open, mixing our silent oasis with the chaos inside. Someone yelled something — what, I couldn't be sure — and then bodies were splashing into the pool. It seemed it finally was an actual pool party, and just in time to save me from letting myself brush past the tipsy threshold with Whiskey.
"Let me show you around San Diego."
Jamie was still standing close enough that I felt his breath on my lips with the words.
"I have to study."
He laughed, but moved just a millimeter closer. The heat multiplied. "It doesn't have to be tomorrow. Just let me take you out, show you your new home city. I bet you haven't even surfed yet, and that's just a crime."
He was right, I hadn't taken my board out yet, and I was itching to. My grip tightened on the rail, keeping me in place. I wanted to pull away, I wanted to lean in closer. I had no fucking idea what I wanted.
Finally, I found my voice long enough to answer. "Okay."
"B!" My name found us from across the pool and Jamie and I both snapped our necks in unison to find the source. Ethan waved from where he'd slid up on a bar stool in the pool, calling me over. I nodded, smiling, and turned back to Jamie.
"I guess I'll see you around."
Jamie's eyes were still hard on Ethan, but he finally ripped them away to look down at me once more. "Yes, you will." He watched me for a minute, and I couldn't shake the way his eyes had changed. They were a darker, deeper brown, shaded with bad intentions. "Remember how you used to say I don't play fair?"
I cocked a brow. "Yeah…"
His eyes smoldered as he stepped away from me, and I felt the loss of energy instantly. He wet his lips, and my eyes followed the sweep of his tongue.
"Just wanted to make sure you didn't forget."
With that, he gripped the Alder t-shirt he was wearing by the back collar and stripped it over his head, letting it fall beside his feet. My breath caught at the sight of his abs on full display, their definition stronger than the last time I'd seen them. I noted the scar just above his hip, the one I wanted so desperately to trace with my fingers, and I found his eyes again just in time for him to wink. Then, he climbed onto the railing and jumped into the pool to the sound of a roaring crowd.
You know those gut feelings you get that warn you of impending doom? I had swarms of them that night as we danced around each other at the party, never getting close enough to talk again, yet never getting completely out of the other's sight. I stayed close to Ethan and Jamie kept his distance, but whenever our eyes met across the crowd, my stomach twisted in warning.
I should have listened, but if you haven't learned by now, caution signs didn't work when it came to Jamie.
